The rapid transition to secure and clean energy sources is crucial for Europe and lower energy prices are strongly linked with the acceleration of the European Union's competitiveness. Metrology contributes to the optimisation of the energy production processes leading to a more cost-effective and sustainable energy production. Further, Europe’s metrology community plays a key role in tackling the measurement challenges in introduction of renewable energy supplies to the gas and electricity grids.
