The economic benefit resulting from EURAMET metrology research programmes is quantified in a new report

European turnover from new or significantly improved products from the Metrology Partnership and its predecessors: Every euro invested in European metrology research returned four to the economy.

EURAMET’s metrology research programmes underpin the EU’s strategic goals from decarbonisation to quantum technologies, from health to digital and green transitions and sustainable prosperity.

The Metrology Partnership and its predecessor programmes

• demonstrate high economic return on public investment in research,
• support faster innovation cycles and technological sovereignty,
• ensure the safety, quality, and well-being of society,
• align with EU priorities for digital and sustainability transformation, including green transformation of the energy infrastructure.

This new report, with detailed methodology, quantifies the economic ripple effect: For every 1 million Euro of EU funding, more than 4 million Euro in turnover was generated through new or significantly improved products resulting from projects within the programmes.
